- Running Cisco IOS Software, makes the Access Point supports link role flexibility which provides both access point and bridge functionality through configuration of each radio as an access point, repeater, root bridge, non-root bridge, or workgroup bridge. This configuration flexibility enables the Access Point to address applications ranging from basic wireless LAN coverage to wireless LAN coverage with wireless backhaul to more traditional bridging applications. The access point without wired connection will use the 5-GHz radio to wirelessly connect to the other access point for backhaul to the network.
